STRESS MANAGEMENT: Using Self-Help Techniques to Deal with Stress.

Stress is a feeling that people have when they are overloaded and struggling to cope with demands. These demands can be related to finances, work, relationships and other situations but anything that poses a real or perceived challenge or threat to a person’s well being can cause stress. However one can learn to manage it and lead a healthier and happy life.

Here are a few life style hints you can use to mange and prevent the feeling of being overwhelmed:

  1. Keep a positive attitude.
  2. Accept that there are events that you cannot control.
  3. Be assertive instead of aggressive. Assert your feelings, opinions or belief instead of becoming angry, defensive or passive.
  4. Exercise regularly. Your body can fight stress better when it is fit.
  5. Eat healthy, well-balanced meals.
  6. Learn to manage your time more effectively.
  7. Seek out social support. Spend enough time with those you enjoy.
