Andile Tshuma holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism and media studies from the National University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Science honors degree in journalism and media studies from the same institution. She is an award-winning print major, having worked for both private and state-owned media entities, and has also worked in broadcasting for two of the country's television stations.  Her research interests are in health, gender, environment, and the media. She closely works with civil society organizations and currently serves as a trustee at the Environmental Policy and Advocacy network, as well as the Centre for Health Communication in Zimbabwe. She currently serves as the Global Health Journalism Network (HJN) Ambassador for Zimbabwe. She joined the journalism department in 2019 as a Teaching Assistant.
