Short Biography:      Mthuthukisi Ncube is a Lecturer and prolific researcher, and development practitioner at the Institute of Development Sciences (IDS) at the National University of Science and Technology, Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. He also has a keen interest in international conference speaking and presentation. With over 17 years of practitioner experience in protecting vulnerable groups and promoting social justice, he is particularly focused on the human-nature intersections focusing on environmental and child rights. He holds a Master's in Development Studies (with Distinction) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Development Studies. Mthuthukisi has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at academic conferences, demonstrating his expertise in investigative research, policy advocacy, and academic writing.

Professional Qualifications: Certificate in Personnel Management (IPMZ)

Courses Taught:       Mthuthukisi has taught Communication Skills, Conflict Transformation and Leadership at Undergraduate level (2018-2022).

Currently teaches Research Methods (MDS/MDM 5204) for Master in Development Studies and Disaster Management.

 

Research Interests:   With a background in social science and development studies in particular, he is enthused in researching and writing on natural capital, socio-ecological systems, ecosystem services, climate change adaptation livelihood-strategies, environmental and climate change, right based programming, artisanal small-scale mining interface with agriculture, conflict transformation and quality assurance in higher education (QAHE).
