Biography
Teddy has over 30 years of professional experience and has been with the University for 25 years lecturing in modules such as Strategic Management, Strategic Marketing, International Marketing, Retail and Omni-Channel Management, and Research Methods at undergraduate and post-graduate Levels. He was the Head of the Business Management Department for the period 2005 to 2008 before taking a sabbatical to the Catholic University of Mozambique (UCM) from 2008 to 2011. Teddy has extensive experience as a project and investment analyst with a local development finance institution involved in loan and equity financing, management training, and offering business advisory services to SMEs. His consultancy has been in areas such as strategic planning workshop facilitations, customer service programme development, market and image surveys, SME development, mentoring and coaching as well as monitoring and evaluation of programmes. Has developed and run corporate training programmes in various business and marketing modules for several companies in and outside Zimbabwe. He was involved in the setting up of the MBA programme at the Catholic University of Mozambique (UCM), covering four campuses in Chimoio, Tete, Nampula and Quilimane. He has also lectured at other Universities in the region such as the University of Zambia in Lusaka. Teddy has facilitated several strategic planning workshops for both private and public sector institutions. He was the lead facilitator in the development of strategic plans for National Blankets (Feb 2013) NEC Textile Industry
(2013) United Bulawayo Hospitals (2014), McDonald Bricks (2013), Tierra Chemicals (2015), Zimbabwe Building Construction Association (ZBCA 2015), Construction Industry Pension Fund (CIPF 2017), NEC for Textile industry (2018), NUST (2019; 2021) among many others. He has undertaken advanced policy research training with the Partnership for African Governance and Social Research (PASGR) Institute based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has specific research skills in survey design, questionnaire design, fieldwork implementation, data analysis, report writing, and presentation. His research interests focus on strategy and market development for SMEs.
