About Course
The Certificate in Systemic Child Counselling and Applied Parenting is designed for professionals who work directly and indirectly with children. These include among others, Early Childhood Development (ECD) teachers, primary and high school teachers, nurses, caregivers in child care programmes, development workers working in child care programmes, and private and public officers in child care programmes and institutions. It is also a course designed to enhance
child counselling and parenting skills for parents/guardians, grandparents and would-be parents. The course is designed for the listed professionals and parents/guardians who want to upgrade and complement their qualifications and child counselling and parenting skills and have at least an ordinary level of education. The Certificate Course is a 12-month weekend school and e-learning programme done over a block release format of three Blocks.
Entry Requirements: 5 O’ Levels, special entry considered on merit. Access to the Internet, and basic computer knowledge.
Duration: 1 year, taught in 3 Blocks over weekends (Sat and Sun) full day.

- Parenting of Children in Child Care Institutions
- Research Project
Assessment: Practical assignments, Research projects, Oral and written examinations
Certification: Qualifying students shall be certified by NUST-CCE
